Poison Poetry- "I Am, For The Blind"

Blessed On Friday the 22nd of February Poison Poetry in association with Art of the Soul Organization and Urban Arts held their "I Am, For The Blind" event at the Alliance Francaise in Gaborone. The event started off slowly with the audience trickling in, which gave the artists time to get themselves psyched up for their performances, which they did blindfolded. All proceeds are being given to the Lephoi Centre for the Blind in Francistown. The poets displayed a real dedication to the cause by moulding their art and themselves to reflect the cause they were performing for. This unique performance took it a step further by blindfolding several members of the audience so they could appreciate the true terror of surrendering their senses for the sake of experience. All in all it was a very interesting night, with beautiful, thought provoking poetry for a good cause.
